Do I get the same protection with a day cream with SPF as with a facial sunscreen?Updated 12 days ago
URBAN PROTECTION day cream provides broad-spectrum UV protection with both UVA protection and SPF 30, and it is developed for daily use all year round. If you spend time in the sun, for example on your way home from work, it is recommended to apply an extra layer, since the sun-protective effect decreases over time.
A day cream with sun protection and a sunscreen with the same SPF label provide the same protection. The labeling requirements are identical for both types of products. This means that a product labeled with SPF 30 meets the same standards regardless of whether it is a sunscreen or a day cream.
There are, however, some important things to keep in mind. All products labeled with SPF (both sunscreens and day creams with sun protection) must be reapplied during the day to ensure that the effect is maintained. If you spend a long time in the sun, the product should be reapplied approximately every two hours. On days when you spend a lot of time outdoors, it is therefore necessary to apply the product several times.
If you plan to swim or exercise outdoors, where you sweat, it is recommended to choose a water-resistant product. Very few day creams with sun protection are water-resistant, while sunscreens more often are – but not always. Therefore, it is a good idea to double-check that your sunscreen is water-resistant before taking it to the beach.
